Conference specifically for hotel managers
In its 11th year, the Hotel General Managers Conference, organised by the Master Innholders, looks at issues concerning hoteliers. Taking place at London's Savoy hotel, the event begins in the afternoon of 19 January with a champagne reception in the evening. The following day there is a full day's programme.
"Managing resources" is the theme of day one and this day is designed specifically for independent hoteliers. Subjects include legislation, buying and quality management.
The theme of the next day is "Winning solutions". Caterer & Hotelkeeper editor Forbes Mutch will present the current Hotelier of the Year Robin Hutson, who founded Hotel Du Vin, to give the opening address.
Subject for day two include property management, people management and managing the environment. Speakers include Julia Sibley of the Savoy Educational Trust; Malcolm Moss, shadow minister for the arts and tourism; and Bob Cotton of the British Hospitality Association.
