Vacherin launched
Vacherin, a new food service company, was launched this week by Mark Philpott and Clive Hetherington. It aims to cater for the staff and directors of central London companies with 500 to 1,000 employees. Philpott was previously managing director of Director's Table, and Hetherington has worked as an accountant for hospitality firms, including Gardner Merchant and Allied & Catering, since 1985.
Pompey contract
Leicestershire-based Catering Partnership has won a contract with De La Rue Cash Systems in Portsmouth. The cash machine specialist has appointed the independent caterer to provide a breakfast, lunch and deli bar service for its 350 employees on-site. Formerly held by Eurest, the three-year contract is worth almost £100,000 in annual turnover.
United they stand
Levy Restaurants, a US stadium food service division of Compass Group, has signed a consultancy agreement with Manchester United to bring new food and drink ideas to its Old Trafford ground. Levy will work with Manchester United Catering to introduce new concepts and service techniques at the ground's kiosks, suites and restaurants.
Charlton house deal
Charlton House has opened a contract with Scotch whisky firm Chivas Brothers at its new office in Hammersmith, west London. The contract, for an initial period of a year, will turn over £120,000 a year and will see Charlton House catering for 100 staff.
