Sodexho wins extension to hospital contract

Sodexho has won a two-year extension to its contract with Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Trust in the West Midlands. Sodexho has provided catering at the hospital for the past five years. The contract has an annual turnover of about £1.3m.

Arena lands new deals

Arena Catering has secured a three-year contract for the Sanctuary Brasserie in the new Farnborough Hospital in Kent. The contract is worth more than £100,000 a year. Arena has also won a new franchise deal worth £200,000 a year at Westferry Printers in London's Docklands, where it has held the catering contract for the last three years.

Charlton House lab job
Reading-based Charlton House has won a three-year contract to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and hospitality services for 1,500 people at Government and academic research laboratory CCLRC Rutherford Appleton in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The deal has an annual turnover of £900,000 and will also see Charlton House managing vending services and a new shop and deli bar. The contract, which starts on 3 March, was formerly held by Aramark.

Eurest takes organic route
Staff at the Slough-based headquarters of e-business management company Computer Associates International can now eat organic produce from the company's own garden, which has been created by Eurest and landscaping company Waterers Landscape. It features 20 organic apple trees, six beehives and a wide range of organic vegetables, which will be used for cooking and served to employees. Eurest feeds 850 people a day at the company.

Traditional treat

Events caterer Alexander's served traditional pie and mash to about 460 guests and provided buffets for a further 245 people at this year's NME Carling Music Awards, held at Po Na Na in Hammersmith, London, earlier this month.

Healthy Hallmark

Hallmark Catering Management, part of Compass Group, has won a healthy schools award for its catering services at Carmel Technology College in Darlington, County Durham. Compass bought Hallmark Catering Management from its private owner last May.
