Curry house wins praise

Bradford's Mumtaz Paan House is one of the most talked-about restaurants outside of London, according to Harden's Top UK Restaurants 2001.

In its 20-strong list of Places People Talk About, Yang Sing in Manchester takes the top spot, followed by Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, with the Mumtaz Paan House in third place.

The curry house, which specialises in dishes such as chicken tikka, is described as serving "simple" Pakistani food, "beautifully cooked" at "very reasonable prices".

The most expensive restaurant in the list of Top Scorers is Le Manoir at £100-plus. The cheapest is the Gurkha Grill in Manchester at £10-plus.
