THE TM-U230 Impact Printer launched by Epson is designed specifically for high volume kitchen applications as part of a meal ordering system. It features a water-resistant case and a drain channel which lets out any water entering through the paper exit. It also resists kitchen steam or splashes with a flat surface and anti-bacterial coating.
Printing is in two colours with user selectable character fonts and 6.4 lines/sec print speed. All printers are fitted with a buzzer to alert busy kitchen staff to incoming order information. Printer status messages can be transmitted back to the host system for simplified maintenance
