TWO famous Manchester restaurant groups had a presence at the show to launch retail and catering food products. The 5-strong Shere Kahn curry restaurant chain launched a range of 10 curry sauces in jars. Developed in conjunction with Simpson Ready Foods, the sauces include Balti, Handi, Jalfrezi and Tikka Marinade and replicate those sold in the chain's restaurants. Prices: £1.99 per 425g retail jar.
Leading Chinese cuisine exponents Yang Sing introduced new coated chicken products, Originally developed for Yang Sing Express operation at Manchester airport, products are claimed to have a crispy crumb coating that maintains texture and taste when microwaved.
