Contracts flow at Wilson Vale

Staffordshire-based Wilson Vale has won a one-year contract with lubricating oil company Lubrizol to provide catering services at two of its sites. Wilson Vale will provide lunch, hospitality and vending services for 550 staff at Lubrizol's manufacturing site in Bromborough, Merseyside, and its international laboratory in Hazelwood, Derbyshire. The contract will turn over £350,000.

Restaurant Associates wins London café contract

Restaurant Associates, the fine-dining arm of Compass, has won the contract to manage the catering at the Holland Park café in London when it opens this summer. The five-year contract, to feed as many as 1,000 customers a day, has a total turnover of £2.2m. There will be a limited service from a temporary facility until the café opens.

Medirest continues to provide the perfect tonic

Healthcare caterer Medirest, part of Compass, has retained its contract with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore, Middlesex. Medirest, which has provided catering at the hospital since 1998, has extended its contract by five years. The deal, which sees Medirest providing housekeeping and catering services for 6,310 in-patients and 46,000 out-patients a year, has an annual turnover of about £2.3m. The contract started earlier this month.

Eurest opens Pay As You Dine facilities

Eurest Defence Services has opened new Pay As You Dine restaurant facilities at RAF Henlow in Bedfordshire. The facilities include a café and restaurant, Internet café and shop. The Pay As You Dine trial, lasting a year, allows the 2,300 service men and women and civilians to pay only for what they eat, rather than a standard meal charge.
