DON'T DELAY ON
DESIGNERS are passing up the opportunity to showcase their talents to ten major hotel groups, have their designs implemented in two hotels and appear on nationwide television if they don't make the 1 August deadline for the Design Awards run by Caterer & Hotelkeeper and Holiday Care service.
The brief is to design a three-star city-centre hotel bedroom with en suite bathroom that is accessible to both the able and not so able-bodied, in a bid to redress the insensitivity of hotel design that effectively bars disabled guests.
The winning design will be incorporated into a Mount Charlotte Thistle bedroom and other major hotel rooms, and will be comemmorated with a presentation at November's Holiday Care Awards ceremony in London, hosted by TV personality Judith Chalmers and filmed for ITV's Wish You Were Here programme.
