Double prize this week

Double prize this week

This week, Caterer readers have the opportunity to win £1,000 by matching the numbers on their Price Finder Card with the figures in our Fresh Food Prices section.

The example on the right shows just how easy it is to play the Price Finder Game. The specimen card has, like all cards, six numbers which refer to particular products in the table opposite.

The first number on the specimen card is 1, which refers to Fresh fish, sardines, on the grid opposite. The relevant price can be found on page 23 of Fresh Food Prices. This week's price is 130p.

Repeating that process for all numbers on the above card gives the following result:

1 Fresh fish, sardines Manchester: 130

19 Fresh fish, rainbow trout fillet Birmingham: 230

27 Vegetables, swedes 28lb Cardiff: 250

36 Beef, steak and kidney Bristol: 140

37 Vegetables, cabbage, savoy 20/box Cardiff: 280

38 Game, venison, diced venison Birmingham: 220

Overall Total: 1250

As the total in this example is less than the Price Finder Total of 1340, this is not a winning card this week.

To play the game, simply follow the above process with your own card, using the space on the right hand side of the grid to write down your prices. If your total matches or exceeds 1340, then you can make a claim for a share of the £1,000 prize by telephoning 0254 683555 between 10am and 2pm on Monday 10 October.

Remember to keep your card in a safe place because you can use it to play the game in Caterer & Hotelkeeper for the next two weeks. If you have not received a game card and would like one, please telephone 0753 577225.

Entry is open to UK residents only.
