Dutch group back on market

Hospitality Europe, the Dutch hotel property group, is for sale again, after being taken off the market last September. Property agent Jones Lang LaSalle is now believed to be handling the sale of the group, which is understood to have a price tag of about £500m.

Hospitality Europe owns eight hotels, including the Sheraton Hotel Pulitzer in Amsterdam, the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport hotel, and the Hyatt Regency Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

Industry insiders speculate that it is likely to be sold to an investor that does not mind taking on brand-name properties, which would probably rule out the large branded hotel operators.

Several US property investors have been suggested as possible buyers, including the Blackstone group, Patriot American Hospitality, Colony Capital and Strategic Hotel Capital.

Strategic was set to buy Hospitality Europe last year, but talks fell through.
