Fine-dining plans for Yorkshire hotel

David and Luiza Todd have bought the 10-bedroom Frenchgate Hotel in Richmond, North Yorkshire, for more than the £550,000 guide price quoted by agent Colliers Robert Barry. The new owners plan to add a conservatory, which will trade as a bistro, and develop a fine-dining restaurant at the hotel. David previously worked in sales and marketing in the healthcare sector, while Luiza is a technical sales manager. Joining them in the new venture are Michael and Catherine Benjamin. Michael is a chef who previously worked at Gidleigh Park hotel in Devon, while Catherine has lots of front-of-house experience.
