A round-up of the latest contract catering deals…

Civil service Sodexho

Sodexho has won a three-year contract to cater for about 300 civil servants in seven staff restaurants across Northern Ireland. Turnover will be in the region of £400,000 a year. Six of the sites were previously operated by Campbell Catering, one by Mount Charles.

Museum piece

Eliance, the commercial catering arm of Elior UK, has won the contract to run the catering at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. It will run for four years and five months and is worth £4m in turnover over the length of the contract. It was previously held by Sodexho, which retains the contract for the officers' mess on the same site.

Baxter's number eight

BaxterSmith, the company set up by former Baxter & Platts directors Mike Smith and William Baxter, has won its eighth contract since launching in May. Wins include law firm Slaughter and May, training organisation Edexcel and pharmaceuticals firm Nycomed. The contractor's annual turnover is now just under £3m.

Wizard of Oz

Financial services group National Australia has awarded Sodexho a three-year contract to feed 250 staff at its new office in London. Sodexho will look after the post room and reception services as well as running the staff restaurant, vending and hospitality catering. Turnover will be about £480,000 a year.

Fusion food

Eurest and Sutcliffe, the business and industry wings of Compass and Granada, are to join forces to become Eurest Sutcliffe, with a combined turnover of £800m a year. The move follows the merger of Granada and Compass in July.
