Footballers tackle cost of overnight game

A midlands football team found their bill £450 heftier after a prank at the Arosfa Hotel in Weston-super-Mare.

Owner Michael Freedman paid £15 compensation to 20 guests after two members of the Halesowen Town team set off fire extinguishers in the early hours.

The liquid entered the smoke detectors, which short-circuited and repeatedly triggered thefire alarms.

"In the morning they apologised profusely, but I refused to serve them breakfast and added the compensation and £150 for the extinguishers to their bill," Freedman said.
