Gala opts for Goulden boy

Neil Goulden, formerly chief executive of tenpin bowling and fast-food operator Allied Leisure, has been appointed group managing director of bingo company Gala.

He will start on 1 February.

His move comes four months after Allied Leisure was taken over by start-up firm Georgica.

Goulden, asked if he would like to open restaurants at Gala's UK bingo clubs, said: "People now expect more than just a gaming environment, and food and beverage is important. It is too early to say what we will do."
