NEW from Simon Jersey is the Ultima Weave fabric, 958, for tailored garments.

It has the handle of merino wool, but is actually a poly-wool which makes it hard-wearing and practical. It is crease resistant, washable and has a slighter heavier weight than the Panama weave suiting. Available in four colours - iris, cinnamon, navy and black.

Ladies: jackets from £46.95; skirts from £11.50; trousers from £16.25; blouses from £9.95; dresses from £15.95; knitwear from £21.95; waistcoats from £10.95 and accessories from £4.10.

Men's: jackets from £55.95; trousers from £15.95; shirts from £9.95; knitwear from £21.95; waistcoats from £10.95 and accessories from £3.95.

To celebrate the Millennium, the company has launched a specially designed range. The Millennium range, 959, features a baseball cap, bow tie, short apron, scarf, tie and unisex waistcoat. Prices are: baseball hat, £8.95; bow tie, £7.95; short apron, £5.95; scarf, £9.95; tie, £9.95 and unisex waistcoat, £11.95.

A new collection of De Luxe chefs jackets, 960, at £50 each has been launched made from 100 per cent cotton fabric with a special resin finish.

Both Simon Jersey's chefs dress (at £24.75), 961 and ladies chefs' jacket (£14.95), 962, have princess panel styling to make them comfortable. There's also a new chef's skirt (£16.95), 963.

A new orange multi colourway has been added to its range of big, bright checks, available in trousers (£13.95), aprons (£4.25), hats (£4.75) and accessories, 964.

With the exception of men's jackets, virtually every Simon Jersey garment is machine washable which eliminates dry cleaning bills.
