Grant to ease in food laws

Nottingham Trent University has received a £45,000 Government grant for a project that will help owners of take-away food outlets get to know the new food hygiene laws.

The two-year local pilot study is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and will start in September.

One graduate student will visit selected take-away premises with an environmental health officer, to help owners implement procedures re-quired by food safety regulations being introduced in September. The student will develop a risk assessment procedure for take-aways.
