Hartford extends Jamies deadline

Restaurant and bar operator Hartford Group, which has agreed to buy Jamies Bars for £4.8m, has extended the deadline for shareholders to vote for or against the deal.

Hartford needs approval from shareholders representing 90% of Jamies' shares in order to complete the acquisition of the AIM-listed bar operator.

So far, it has got approval from just 62.3%. It is urging shareholders who did not vote before 28 August to do so by a revised deadline of 11 September.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?> If successful, the deal will give Hartford 17 London bars. It currently owns fine-dining restaurants Pharmacy, Dakota and Canyon in London, and the Common Room bar in Wimbledon, south London.
