High Holborn restaurant in administration
High Holborn, the London restaurant that closed just four months after winning its first Michelin star, is in administration. Paul Clark and Andrew Stoneman, partners at Menzies Corporate Restructuring, were appointed joint administrators by the High Court in London on Thursday, 7 June. Clark explained why the restaurant had run into financial difficulties. He said: "These were caused by a combination of an overspend on the refurbishment costs before the restaurant opened and a delayed opening." The restaurant had been due to open in March or April last year but did not do so until August (*Caterer*, 31 May, page 4). Clark added: "We have been inviting offers for the business and we have had a great deal of interest expressed by both independent operators and several high profile chains."
