Hotels bid to Excel

Six new hotels, with a total of 1,200 rooms, will form part of the Excel exhibition centre now under construction in London's Docklands.
Several companies, including Holiday Inn, Marriott, Accor and Hilton, have been in talks with the centre's developers. The hotels are expected to be a mixture of four- and three-star.
The first phase of the 90,000sq m exhibition centre, on a site next to the Royal Victoria Dock in east London, is set to open this autumn.
