Hungry Steamroller rumbles towards stock market launch
Steamroller Restaurants, the holding company of Hush, the London restaurant owned by the son of actor Roger Moore, is looking for more London properties and could seek a stock market flotation within two years.
Geoffrey Moore and Jamie Barber, Roger Moore's former lawyer, are looking at properties in west London with a view to opening another restaurant in the first half of next year.
A spokesman said that, once the company had about six properties, it would consider a flotation. In December, a second Hush will open in Swiss ski resort Gstaad.
In its first full year's trading, which ended in April 2002, Steamroller Restaurants, which includes the private dining rooms above its Mayfair restaurant and a wine shop, increased pre-tax profits from £325,000 to £445,000. Turnover increased from £2.8m to £3.6m.
