IHIF awards prizes for the best hotel deals

The winners of the hotel industry's "deals of the year" awards were announced at the eighth International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin last week.
The Blackstone Group won Portfolio Deal of the Year for the sale of the Savoy Group, beating off fierce competition from Whitbread for the purchase of Premier Lodge and Hotel du Vin by MWB's Malmaison, who were the other nominees.
The Best New Development deal was awarded to Quinlan Private for the Four Seasons in Budapest. Dakota in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, and the Soho Hotel in London were runners-up.
The winner of the Single Asset Transaction deal went to the Quinn Group for the acquisition of the Hilton Prague. Le Richemond Geneve by RF Hotels and two Thistle hotels in London by Travelodge were the other two finalists.
Both the Savoy Group and Hilton Prague deals were brokered by Jones Lang LaSalle.
