IN BRIEF 2
In brief
Kebabs on the march
A new chain of branded kebab restaurants is set to expand across London and then nationwide over the next five years. The first Flaming Nora opened in Upper Street, Islington, last November, and a second is planned for Wood Green in July. The group plans another in Kilburn by the end of the year and a fourth in Shepherd's Bush by early 2006. Managing director and ex-accountant David Bloom said he hoped to roll the concept out across the UK over the next five to seven years.
It's Supper time
The Stork Rooms and Crazy Horse Club in London's Regent Street are to be converted into a Supper Club. This brand of entertainment restaurant is already proving a hit in Amsterdam, Munich and Miami. New owner Unicorn City will merge the two venues to create a 5,000sq ft club, which is due to open in the autumn. A spokeswoman for Davis Coffer Lyons, which sold the venues for an undisclosed sum, added: "Expect to hear a lot more about Supper Clubs over the coming months."
Sodexho's FO deal
Sodexho fine-dining division Director's Table has won a three-year contract to provide catering services at the Foreign Office. The deal, which will turn over £1.7m a year, starts on
3 May at two sites in Westminster and one in Milton Keynes. A total of 48 Sodexho staff will work on the contract, catering for 3,400 Foreign Office staff across three sites. The contract, which was previously run by Charlton House, includes vending, coffee shop and deli bar facilities and has a two-year extension option.
