Granada Compass has put its hotels division up for auction after talks with French-owned group Accor broke down.The company said: "The interests of Granada Compass shareholders will best be served by establishing a formal process for the disposal of the Forte hotel division."

Race claim fails

A McDonald's worker has had his racial harassment complaint rejected by an Edinburgh employment tribunal. Andrew Maloney, 46, of Hawthornvale, Edinburgh, was ordered to pay £500 towards expenses to the McDonald's restaurant in South St Andrew Street, Edinburgh.

Law deal for MITIE

Mitie Catering has won a £500,000-a-year contract to provide the catering at The College of Law of England and Wales. The three-year agreement, covers sites in London, Guildford, York andChester.
