Jones takes charge of London tourism

Helen Jones has been appointed head of business development at the London Tourist Board (LTB). The newly created post was announced earlier this year by managing director Paul Hopper.

Ms Jones previously worked for the British Tourist Authority, where she was a brand manager until last July. Since then she has been on secondment with the LTB, working on projects such as sponsorship and joint funding.

In her new role Ms Jones hopes to increase the involvement of London's hoteliers and restaurateurs in the LTB's initiatives to promote the capital.

"The biggest challenge will be to rally industry support behind the LTB for a major London international campaign to take place over the next three years," she said.
