Kempinski and Fairmont in marketing talks

Canadian-based Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has been holding talks with Kempinski about joint marketing, but said last week that no formal agreement had been signed.

Earlier this year, Kempinski said it was on the brink of announcing a marketing agreement with another group that had hotels in London, but Fairmont has no hotels in the British capital. Kempinski abandoned plans to open a hotel in South Kensington last year.

Kempinski declined to comment on press reports of a forthcoming alliance with Fairmont or on other rumours that it was considering a similar agreement with the Savoy group. A Savoy spokeswoman denied any deal.
