MAKE eating out fun for youngsters by serving Funsters from Daloon Foods, 242, - 20g and 60g crispy batter pockets with smiling faces.

They are in three saucy style fillings, all popular among children - beans, tomato sauce and pepperoni with vegetables; pizza style tomato and cheese with pasta stars or mixed vegetables with cheese sauce. They can be oven baked, deep or shallow fried. 224

Bags of goodies are always well received by kids whether it's at a kids' party you've organised or as a giveaway item to keep the kids amused while the parents relax.

Mars, 224, has relaunched its hand bags (100 to 125g) covering Maltesers, M&M's Chocolate, M&M's Peanut, Galaxy Minstrels and Revels.

Large bags (175-250g) include Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels, M&M's Peanut, M&M's Chocolate, as well as two new additions - Galaxy Caramel Swirls and Revels.

Shaped products make meal times more fun for kids, and Bernard Matthews, 243 is well known for its animal shapes.

To help keep kids happy, the company is giving away over half a million stickers featuring Dinosaurs, Footballers, Golden Drummers and Twizzlers - four of its popular shaped products for children.

The Dinosaurs, Footballers and Golden Drummers stickers are included in product packs, while the Twizzlers stickers are available direct from the company, while stocks last.

There are also colourful posters for all four products for display to help generate sales.

Give sandwiches a new look by filling pitta pockets instead.

According to Pride Valley Foods, 232, wholemeal pittas contain almost three times as much fibre as authentic pittas. Oval and round wholemeal pitta breads can be filled with different combinations such as ham and salad, burgers or veggie burgers and relish or serve strips of pitta with dips.

Pride Valley pittas are available in wholemeal, plain and garlic varieties supplied frozen in packs of six, with 30 packs per case.

Finding new ways to serve chicken to tempt children can be difficult.

Fairway Foodservice has launched several new products - Nuggets, 228 and Patties, 229, made from chicken breast meat.

Both can be deep and shallow fried or oven baked in minutes. Nuggets are at £5.95 a kilo and patties £7.60 a kilo.

Also new is Chicken Jalfrezi in 320g portions, 230, and Roast Chicken Breast Strips, 231.

The fully-cooked breast strips are individually quick frozen and can be cooked from frozen for hot dishes or defrosted for serving in salads, sandwiches, topping and fillings.
