Kids' menus

Kids' menus

Michael Godfrey, head chef at the Guinness Brewery in London, also shares his tips on kids' menus.

He says:

  • This is a great way to get the whole family into a restaurant and increase revenue at the same time.

  • Keep children's menus simple. Many children like to read the menu themselves and will shy away from things they don't recognise so don't make the food too over the top.

  • Most children, unfortunately, like old favourites such as chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pizza, burgers and plenty of chips.

  • To entertain my son and his friends, I use a shaped cookie cutter to make sandwiches a little more appealing. You could try this with home-made beef burgers.

  • Always try to consider the opinion of the child and ask them what they would like - after all they are the ones eating it!
