Lallemand back in London

Hilton has appointed Marie-Beatrice Lallemand general manager of the 1,058-bedroom Hilton London Metropole.

She moves from Millennium and Copthorne, where she was director of operations for Continental Europe. She also managed the 454-bedroom Copthorne Hotel Stuttgart International, in Germany, where she was responsible for its 1,800-seat conference centre, 19 restaurants and bars.

The Hilton London Metropole has five restaurants and bars, 17 meeting rooms and 22 conference and banqueting suites. It employs 500 staff.

Lallemand's experience spans more than 20 years. Companies she has worked for include Ramada International, Holiday Inn, Walt Disney World, EuroDisney and Inter-Continental Hotels.

She said: "I view my appointment as the beginning of a new phase in the evolution of the hotel. I have worked in London before and I am delighted to be back."
