London's slump pains continue
London hotels continue to be hit hard by the economic slump, with room revenue recording a double-digit fall, according to the HotelBenchmark Survey by Deloitte & Touche.
With a drop in occupancy across London hotels of 6.6 percentage points, to 69.8%, revenue per available room (revpar) in the capital during March fell to £64, a drop of 11.8% compared with the same month in 2002.
This comes after two months of consecutive revpar falls in January and February.
