Decorator Stuart Grant has been spared a prison sentence following his theft of an empty till from Nando's restaurant in Kilburn, London.
Grant pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary on 5 February and claimed he could not remember the incident because he was drunk.
He was sentenced to 100 hours' community service and made to pay costs of £300.
