MD Crawford moves on after Heritage deal

Guy Crawford has resigned as managing director hotels at Scotland-based group Macdonald Hotels.

The company said his departure followed the successful integration of the Heritage chain into Macdonald, and that Crawford was leaving to pursue other interests.

Gerry Smith, deputy chief executive, will now also fill the role of managing director hotels.

Macdonald bought the 48-strong Heritage chain from Compass for £235m in April last year, in a joint venture with the Bank of Scotland.

Revenue per available room fell by 4% across the Heritage portfolio during the period from October to January.
