Medirest wins Paris hospital contracts
Medirest, part of contract catering giant Compass, has won a multi-million-pound contract to provide catering for six hospitals and administrative sites in Paris.
The three-year contract with Paris Assistance Publique, the authority that manages state hospitals, will turn over about £8.7m a year.
Medirest will provide 13,000 meals a day for patients and hospital staff at the Hotel Dieu, Antoine Beclere Hospital, Mourier Hospital, La Collegiale, Jean Verdier Hospital and the Georges Pompidou European Hospital.
Didier Barbaut, managing director of Medirest in France, said: "This is a major contract for both parties, and it puts Medirest in a significant position within the public hospitals sector."
Medirest said that it had kept on 200 employees from the previous caterer and had hired 15 new executives to work on the new contract.
