MKT to review leisure deal in Germany
My Kinda Town (MKT) is considering pulling out of its contract to manage 24 restaurants and food kiosks at a German shopping and leisure development.
The management contract - touted as the company's most ambitious and challenging overseas operation to date when it was launched five months ago - has come under review following MKT's acquisition by Capital Radio in November 1996.
"We are looking to rationalise our management arrangements," said MKT finance director Stephen Gee.
It is understood the company would prefer to operate management contracts at the massive site for its own restaurant brands only. Just one MKT brand, Henry J Bean's, currently operates at Oberhausen.
Meanwhile, the company is concentrating on finding sites for Henry J Bean's outletsand further radio cafés in the UK.
It is close to securing sites in Manchester, Birmingham and Aberdeen for the Henry J Bean's brand, which was revamped last year.
