Contract caterer Aramark has selected ROBERTA WHEELER as human resources director with a place on its executive board. Wheeler moves from property company Land Securities, where she was group human resources director.

CHRIS BALL has moved to De Vere Village Bury, north Manchester, as revenue manager. He has worked with Hilton in Chicago and was most recently room sales manager/cluster revenue management skills coach at Ramada Jarvis Hotels.

NAOMI NORTHERN has left the De Vere Village hotel in Dudley, West Midlands, where she was sales manager and moved to Millennium & Copthorne's Birmingham city centre hotel as director of sales.

MALCOLM RANN has returned to the Scottish capital after a four-year stint managing five-star hotels in the Middle East and Africa. He is now general manager at the Radisson SAS hotel, Edinburgh.

Manchester's Midland hotel, owned by Quintessential Hotels, has welcomed MIKE MAGRANE as general manager. He was general manager of Quintessential's the Queens hotel in Leeds and has also worked for Le MŽridien.

Avenance has welcomed HENRIK MANSSON as its new human resources director. He has moved to the contract caterer from hotel company Le MŽridien, where he was group European human resources director.

London Savoy hotel owner Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has appointed JULIAN HADDON as director of sales and marketing. He was previously a director of sales with hospitality technology supplier Teledex in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before this he worked at Forte and Le MŽridien Hotels and Resorts.

Le MŽridien Hotels & Resorts has promoted DEAN GREGORY to vice-president worldwide distribution from his previous position of distribution development director. He is based in the company's UK reservations centre in Brentford, London.

Langham Hotels International has chosen JOHN DICK as general manager of its newly refurbished five-star Auckland hotel. He was previously general manager at Waiwera Infinity Thermal Spa Resort in New Zealand.

Celtic Manor Resort in Gwent has lost its director of food and beverage, PETER FUCHS, to Hotel Al Khozama and Al Faisaliah hotel, in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh. He will work as executive chef for both properties, which are managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

BOXHEAD: move of the week

BOXTEXT: Michelin-starred restaurant the Vineyard at Stockcross in Newbury, Berkshire, has appointed Portuguese JOAO PIRES wine director. He will manage a six-strong team of sommeliers and bartenders, and make changes to the restaurant's 2,000-strong wine list.
