Zebrano adds eats
Zebrano brasserie opened above the basement bar of the same name in London last week. The venue has seats for 20 inside and 20 outside. Head chef is Georgina Mitropoulos, who has worked at Nobu and the Mirabelle. Dishes range from £3.50 to £8. The brasserie is owned by Fulham-based Freedom Brewing Company.
Waxy to manchester
Waxy O'Connor's has opened in Manchester. It cost £2m to build, covers 8,600sq ft and can hold 700 people. The pub specialises in Irish seafood. Owner Glendola Leisure opened the first Waxy O'Connor's in London in 1995 and the second in Glasgow in 1999.
11,000th KFC opens
The 11,000th KFC restaurant in the world opened last week in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. KFC UK, a division of Tricon Global Restaurants, has 563 restaurants nationally. The Gateshead outlet is the 168th drive-through KFC. The UK company is opening a new restaurant every week.
Conference venue
The London Art House conference venue opens in Islington, London, today(28 March). The venue has 10 rooms ranging in capacity from a small meeting room for six to a conference hall for 320 people.
Milk & honey date
Milk & Honey opens at the end of April in Soho, London. The 1930s speakeasy-style bar and club will seat 180 in two bars and a private members' room. The owners are Jonathan Downey, and the disc jockey Sasha, who owns the New York bar of the same name.
