Opulent but affordable eaterie for Manchester centre
Manchester is to get a new restaurant in the next few weeks aimed at the city's smart set, with the opening of Lounge 10, featuring interior design by Vivienne Westwood.
The city-centre restaurant has been developed by Francis Carroll, best known in the city as the owner of the now closed Brasserie St Pierre, and will be on the site of a former tapas bar in King Street. The menu of Lounge 10, seating 70 and on three levels, will not feature starters and main courses, but just a list of food, with options on portion sizes.
Carroll said he believed Manchester city centre lacked a glamour restaurant that was affordable: "Lounge 10 will be opulent, but with accessible prices - nothing will be above £11."
