Osborne hotel falls to the wrecking ball

A Swansea hotel which closed last month is to be demolished to make way for a luxury flats development.

The Osborne, a 37-bedroom coastal hotel on the edge of Langland, West Glamorgan, was forced to close because of a lack of business.

Owner Guano Developments had originally intended to sell the hotel, which was built in 1878, for a £2m price-tag, for redevelopment. But because of a lack of interest, the company instead submitted plans for the building to be knocked down.
