Partnership award for scots hotel
An 18-bedroom country house hotel in the Highlands was named overall winner of the 1997 Hospitality Partnership Awards last week.
Mansfield House Hotel, based in Tain, Ross-shire, was given top marks for its collaboration with the local high school, Tain Royal Academy, and for encouraging its students to experience the hospitality industry at first hand.
The awards, launched by the industry's professional body the HCIMA in 1995, recognise the work of employers and educational institutions at training and developing people in the sector.
Thames Valley University won the prize in the educator category for its in-depth consultancy projects.
And the University of Ulster and Scottish & Newcastle Retail won the educator and employer joint-initiative title for a partnership in staff development, adult training, programme design, work experience and research programmes.
