NIGEL WIMPENNY has been appointed finance director of Café Inns in Lancashire. He joined the company as financial controller in September 1997, becoming company secretary in October.

JOANNE GREEN has joined Leading Hotels of the World as a sales manager for conferences and incentives for the UK. She was account manager at Kuoni Incentives and, before that, sales manager for Orient-Express trains.

FIONA VERNON has been made manager of the Town House Company's newly opened hotel in Edinburgh, the Bonham. She has been with the company for seven years. PELHAM HILL has become head chef. He was previously sous chef at 36 restaurant in Edinburgh.

HAMISH REID is the new business development manager at One Whitehall Place, Thistle Hotels' London conference venue. He joins from London conference agency Hotel Brokers. BRUCE NEWSON, formerly a deputy assistant at Buckingham Palace, has been named conference and banqueting manager.

Marriott International has recruited STEVE NUNAN as its director

of sales for the UK and Scandinavia. He has 14 years' experience in the airline industry and is based at Marriott's worldwide sales office in Knightsbridge, London.

KRISTIN WILLIAMSis the new business development manager for Benihana Restaurants in London. She previously worked in the front office at London's 22 Jermyn Street hotel.ti
