Tim Rumney has taken over as general manager of the Castle Green Hotel, in Kendal, Cumbria. Since 1995 he has managed the Forte Posthouse in Grimsby and then Kenwick Park Hotel in Lincolnshire.

Neil Cook has been recruited general manager of the Shire Inns' four-star Aztec Hotel in Bristol. He transferred from the North Lakes Hotel in Penrith, Cumbria, where Ken Kerr, previously with Varden Leisure, has been appointed general manager.

Ryan Hotels has appointed former Irish government minister Maire Geoghegan-Quinn to its board of directors. Donal Chambers, former managing director of AIB Corporate Banking, is also joining the board.

Nicola Hislop is the new sales and marketing manager at De Vere Slaley Hall, near Hexham in Northumberland. For five years she was general manager of the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle.

Inntel, the Colchester-based conference and accommodation reservation service, has appointed Andrew White as sales and marketing director. He was formerly trade sales and marketing manager of the Whitbread Hotel Company.

Hartmut Zunk has taken over as regional director of Rafael Hotels for Southern Germany and Austria. He was previously in charge of the Hotel Rafael in Munich.

Miguel Neves has been promoted from restaurant manager to assistant food and beverage manager of the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Jon Brown has taken over the post of director of operations for the Virgin Hotel Collection. A former operations manager for Arcadian hotels, recently taken over by US hotel chain Patriot, he is based at the company's head office in Crathorne, North Yorkshire.

Dominique Corolleur has been appointed manager of Les Saveurs de Jean-Christophe Novelli W1, the Michelin-starred restaurant owned by Jean-Christophe Novelli. He was formerly manager of L'Oranger and assistant manager of Aubergine prior to that.

Christine Engle has left her four-year post as manager of the Forum Hotel Berlin to return to the Forum Hotel London where she worked from 1990 to 1991 as food and beverage manager. She has returned as general manager.

The Swallow George Hotel in Chollerford, Northumberland, has welcomed back David Holliday who has returned after 10 years to take up the post of general manager. His last job was supervising the building and opening of the Quality Hotel at Edinburgh Airport.

Rachel Prince has joined Pine Lodge Hotel in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, as personnel and training officer after more than five years as a training officer for Midland hotels including Friendly and Queens Moat Houses.

Saverio Buchicchio has left his post as restaurant manager of Dormy House Hotel in Broadway, Worcestershire, to take over as restaurant manager of the Washbourne Court Hotel in Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire.
