Luigi D'auria of the Cloisters restaurant at the Southgate hotel in Exeter has retired after 40 years of service in the hospitality industry.

Martin Wormull has joined the Hilton hotel in Glasgow as executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage. He leaves the Crowne Plaza

Midland hotel in Manchester, where he was deputy general manager. Also joining the Hilton is James Murphy, who has been appointed executive chef. He was executive sous chef at the hotel, and rejoins the team after leaving the Moat House hotel in Glasgow, where he was executive chef.

Hans Wiedemann, managing director of the Montreux Palace in Montreux, Switzerland, has been appointed president of the new board of directors for Leading Hotels of the World in Switzerland. Also elected to the board were Patrice Glogg, general manager of the Park Hotel Bürgenstock; Christian Marich, general manager of the Beau-Rivage Palace hotel in Lausanne; and Marco Torriani, general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Du Rhône in Geneva.

Pat Ashman has joined the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Gwent, as marketing manager. She comes from Welsh television channel S4C, where she was corporate events manager for two years.

La Tasca has appointed John D'ell-Ross as general manager for its new Spanish tapas bar and restaurant in London's Canary Wharf. He previously worked for Via Fossa, also in Canary Wharf, as general manager.

Stephen Mannock has been appointed general manager of the General Tarleton Inn, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. He was previously general manager at the Creggans hotel, Scotland.

Dena Cracknell has been appointed national account manager for hospitality recruitment consultancy Thomson Select. She joins from Macdonald Hotels, where she was a sales and marketing manager.

Yasuhiro Yoneyama has taken up the position of international marketing manager for the Windsor hotel, Bath. He was previously assistant manager in the sales division of Tokyo's Imperial hotel.

Lords of the Manor hotel, Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire, has appointed Tracey Davies resident manager. She joins from Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel in Cumbria, where she was senior assistant manager.

Jo Williams has joined Absolute Corporate Events as director of operations. She was regional director of sales, UK, Benelux and Nordic, for Bass Hotels & Resorts.

Paul Clayton has been appointed regional operations director for Hayley Conference Centres. He joins from the De Vere Group, where he was general manager at Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire and also regional executive responsible for seven De Vere properties.
