Tobin replaces Robinson at dining room

Following Anthony Robinson's sudden departure from The Dining Room in Reigate, Surrey, Anthony Tobin has taken over as head chef at the restaurant. Mr Tobin had previously held the post of head chef at South Lodge at Lower Beeding, West Sussex, for three years. Before that he spent five years at Simply Nico and Very Simply Nico.

Andrew Tester has joined him at The Dining Room, replacing the restaurant's former sous chef, who also left in June.

Mr Tester has moved from London's Nico at Ninety restaurant, where he was the pastry chef.

Derflingher joins forte in rome

Enrico Derflingher, former personal chef to the Prince and Princess of Wales, is to join Forte's Hotel Eden in Rome next month, concentrating on its La Terrazza dell'Eden restaurant.

Mr Derflingher was the Royal Family's first Italian personal chef, before which he worked at various Michelin-starred establishments.

Tate moves up at shaw catering

Patricia Tate has been promoted to regional operations manager for Shaw Catering, responsible for its contracts in London, Northampton, Peterborough and Coventry.

Mrs Tate's promotion comes after only a year working for Shaw Catering as a sales consultant, and follows the company's recent acquisitions of Midlands-based Catering Management Services and Summit Catering (West).

In her newly created position she will oversee 48 contracts and will be based at the regional office in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Hughes assumes directorship

Gary Hughes has been appointed director of financial control at Forte, joining the company from United Distillers, where he was vice-president and financial controller for North America.

Mr Hughes takes over from Peter Clack who is now finance director of the group's roadside restaurants and accommodation.

Murdock doubles Scusi's! operation

Sue Murdock, who has managed Scusi's! restaurant in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, since its opening last November, is to run the second outlet in the chain when it opens in October.

Mrs Murdock is to set up and manage the new restaurant in Henley for Celebrated Hotels, which expects to open further outlets.

She will continue in a supervisory role for the Beaconsfield outlet, and is set to become an area manager for the company when the chain expands further.
