Hotels

Two new recruits have joined the 301-bedroom London Marriott Hotel West India Quay & Executive Apartments, due to open in June 2004. They are Gareth Greening and Helen Rowe. Gareth joins as director of sales from the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, where he was director of event management. Helen is the new assistant director of sales. She leaves her role as corporate sales manager at Marriott International's global sales office in London.

Fiskers

Frank Fiskers, vice president for Sweden at Hilton and Scandic Hotels, will become the company's regional vice president for Central London in early December.

Restaurants

The general manager of the new Frankie & Benny's restaurant in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, is Cheryl Hepplestone. She joins the 144-seat restaurant from the company's Wigan restaurant, where she held the same position.

McDonald's has made some changes to its senior management as part of its revitalisation plan, which will come into effect on 4 December. Claire Babrowski, previously president of McDonald's Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, will become chief restaurant operations officer. Richard Floersch joins the company to head worldwide human resources. Richard leaves Kraft Foods International, where he served as senior vice president of human resources since 1998. Three others - Jim Skinner, Marvin Whaley and Mats Lederhausen - have had their duties expanded.

Contract catering

Michael Ball has joined BaxterSmith Scotland as operations and business development director. He was previously managing director for Scotland at Sodexho.

Sodexho has appointed Thomas Nikolopulos to the newly created role of executive sales director. Nick was previously chief operating officer at software company eBusiness Solutions.
