Hotels

The four-star, 46-bedroom Swan hotel in Streatley, Berkshire, has a new general manager, Jeffrey Ward. He was formerly general manager of the Cornwallis Country Hotel and Restaurant in Eye, Suffolk.

Macdonald Hotels has appointed Sarah Wright human resources manager of its four-star, 128-bedroom Last Drop Hotel in Bolton, Lancashire. She previously worked at the company's Inchyra Hotel in Falkirk, Stirlingshire.

Travel Inn's managing director Mike Tye has joined Whitbread's eight-strong group executive committee.

Restaurants

Just St James, a two-AA-rosette, 120-seat restaurant in London's St James, has welcomed Hugh Mackie as operations manager. Hugh previously held the same role at the Villandry restaurant on Great Portland Street, London.

City Centre Restaurants has appointed Trish Corzine to its board. Trish has worked at the company for 10 years and in March this year was made managing director of concessions, a division covering 25 airport operations.

Alan Parker, managing director of the Whitbread Hotel Company, has been elected chairman of the BHA council. Alan succeeds Paul Dermody, who was chief executive of De Vere Group until he stepped down in September.

The Wales Tourist Board has appointed John Kingsford as commercial director. John joins from Birmingham-based airline Maersk Air, where he held the same position.

Joining foodservice supplier Brakes as marketing manager of the dairy and deli division is Chris Cannon. Chris was previously senior brand manager of Knorr frozen foods at UBF Foodsolutions.
