Jim Souter has joined the four-star, 834-bedroom Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington as general manager. Prior to taking up this role Jim was the company's area general manager for two hotels in the Gatwick area.
The four-star, 216-bedroom London Marriott Kensington hotel has recruited Kate Wilson as bar manager. Kate was previously food services manager at the Courtyard by Marriott Milton Keynes hotel in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire.
Restaurants
David Colcombe, formerly executive chef for the 250-seat Bank Restaurant & Bar, Birmingham, has taken on the role of operations manager for the restaurant.
The New Flamingo Bar & Grill Punjabi restaurant in Leicester has a new head chef. Uma Shanker Balakrishnan was previously the chef and assistant manager of the city's Spices Indian Restaurant.

Deon Prinsloo has joined training and conference centre, Wyboston Lakes, in Bedfordshire. He joins from the Royal Adelaide Hotel in Windsor, Berkshire, where he was assistant food and beverage manager.
Online hotel reservations provider Active Hotels has a new marketing and sales director, Brian Murphy. Brian was formerly vice president of business management for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA for American Express Europe.

Destination Southampton, a conference and events venue finding company, has welcomed Joanne Landon as vice chairman. Joanne is general manager of the Express by Holiday Inn Southampton West hotel.
