The three-star, 502-bedroom Paragon Hotel in Earls Court, London, has welcomed Kevin Maxwell as director of sales and marketing. Kevin previously held the position of regional sales manager for London at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Gwent.

Caroline Parkes has joined the four-star, 83-bedroom Coombe Abbey hotel in Coventry, West Midlands, as general manager. Caroline has spent the last 16 years managing the New Hall hotel in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Four-strong hotel company Arthur Young Group has appointed Derek Silk group operations director. For the last nine months Derek was general manager at the Redwood Lodge hotel and country club in Bristol. Prior to that he worked for 24 years as general manager of the De Vere Dormy hotel in Ferndown, Dorset. ### Restaurants Lars de Wijngaert, former general manager at Frankie & Benny's in Northampton, has moved to the town's Metros restaurant to take up the position of branch manager. ### Contract catering Redcliffe Catering has appointed Katie Turner café and hospitality manager at the New Art Gallery in Walsall, West Midlands. Katie recently returned from the USA, where she worked for Marriott International. ### Plus… John Dyson, managing director of York-based company Health, Food and Safety Solutions, has been appointed food and technical affairs advisor to the British Hospitality Association. John was formerly managing director of Safeguard, the environmental health and safety division of Sodexho UK.
