Hotels

The Millennium Hotel London Mayfair has appointed Adam Salter to the position of deputy general manager. Prior to joining the four-star, 48-bedroom hotel, Adam held the same position at the Sopwell House Hotel in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The 86-bedroom Columba hotel in Inverness has welcomed Stephen Gow as general manager. Stephen joins the hotel, which is undergoing a refurbishment and is due to open in the spring, from Monument Hotels, where he was based at Scotland's Hotel in Pitlochry, Tayside.

Restaurants

Frankie & Benny's has appointed Michael Thake as general manager of its new 132-seat restaurant in Bournemouth, Dorset. Michael joined the company in 2001 and has most recently been manager of the Croydon branch in south London.

Woodhouse Hughes, a recruitment specialist, has appointed Lisa Morrison as senior consultant to open its new office in Edinburgh. Lisa hails from rival agency Berkeley Scott, where she was a consultant. Also joining Woodhouse Hughes from Berkeley Scott are Paul Lucas and Ian Dempsey. Paul, who previously managed the chef consultants at Berkeley Scott, joins as director of the newly formed chefs division. Ian, a former
consultant, becomes manager of the southern division. A fourth new recruit is Rachel Edmonds, who leaves her food and beverage position at Radisson. Berkeley Scott has recruited four new team members for its London and Cambridge offices. The two new London recruits are Robin Bennett and Sarah Hockaday. Robin, who was previously restaurant manager at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel, joins as permanent consultant. Sarah's new position is recruitment consultant. She has experience in the field, having previously been an IT recruitment consultant. The duo joining Berkeley Scott's Cambridge office are Brian Hayes and Nathalie Betts. Brian moves to the permanent team as a consultant, while Nathalie becomes a junior consultant on the temporary team. Brian used to work as an accounts and logistics manager for a marketing company. Nathalie is a graduate in hospitality management from Sheffield University. Food procurement consultancy PSL has expanded its Ireland team with a new operational manager, Brian O'Callaghan-Westropp. The company also has new operations managers for northern England and the South East. Nick Himsworth becomes a member of the northern team, while Ian Stockley joins the South East team. Nick has recently been working in the IT industry, although he has held college lecturer positions in food and hospitality. Both Ian and Nick have more than 20 years' experience in the catering industry, having worked as head chefs for De Vere Group and most recently Hilton. Nick was based at the Hilton Manchester Airport and Ian at the Hilton London Stanstead.
