Hotel franchise and development company Golden Tulip UK has made several new appointments. Trevor Lake has joined

as operations director. He was previously in charge of operations at 26 leisure clubs for Esporta Group. Former operations director at Golden Tulip UK, Brian Scurrah, has moved to the new post of development director. The company has also welcomed Peter Lambert as group management accountant. Peter has 17 years' accountancy experience, of which eight have been spent in the hotel sector. Previously he was regional accountant for the North-west for CHE Group.

Asia-based Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has appointed Sharon Garrett director of communications for its two new hotels in
Dubai the five-star, 301-bedroom Shangri-La hotel and the four-star, 250-bedroom Traders Hotel. Also joining the hotel group as sales manager for France and Belgium is Celine Doyle. She leaves her position as director of sales for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in France. ### Restaurants Morgan Meunier, former head chef at the Admiralty restaurant in central London, has opened his own 48-seat restaurant, Morgan M, in north London. Running the kitchen with Morgan is restaurant director Sylvain Soulard, who has worked with Morgan for more than four years. ### Plus…

Wyboston Lakes, a training and conference centre in Bedfordshire, has appointed Paula Moore sales executive. Paula has previous experience in meetings and conferences and has a degree in hospitality management. Simon Drysdale has joined the board of Coffee Republic as finance director. He joins from business advice firm Ernst & Young. Richard Bingham, the previous interim finance director continues on the board as a non-executive director. Nigel Anstead has taken over the post of catering operations manager at Leeds Castle in Kent. Nigel formerly worked for the Scolarest division of Compass, most recently as conference and catering manager at Haileybury and Imperial Service College in Hertford.
