Plymouth hotel on course after blaze

The Plymouth Hoe Moat House hotel has a new general manager, whose first task will be to oversee the completion of a refurbishment following a major fire at Easter.

David Clements has been with the company for 17 years and has been GM of the Birmingham Grand and Bedford Moat House hotels.

He takes the helm as the hotel's refurbished restaurant gets set to reopen following the fire, which broke out on Good Friday.

About 230 guests and staff fled the building as 70 firemen tackled the blaze. Several floors were badly damaged by smoke.
