Profits up at Savoy Group
The Savoy hotel group this week reported increased turnover and gross trading profit in the year to 31 December.
Turnover was up 6.8% to £120.6m at the mainly London-based luxury hotel group, with gross trading profit up by 18.2% to £47.4m. Revenue per available room was up by 7.1% to £226.
There was capital investment of £13.8m in the group in 1999, including 10 new rooms at the Berkeley, the Lancaster Ballroom and private rooms at the Savoy.
